1. Which building typology you are researching?
- The building typology that I'm researching for is a school for blind children.
2. Why are you researching this building typology?
- After doing some research I realized that there aren't many schools for the blind, and because of that a lot of blind children aren't able to go to school. Some children do but they face hardships, because the schools that they are attending don't have enough facilities provided for them.
3. What is the speciality of this building type you would like to research i.e. museum for dance, school for digital media...
- The school that I'm researching for will not be a regular elementary school, the school will be for blind children. Therefore the building will need a lot of extra elements.
4. What are the examples that you will be researching...list the examples, location and architect
- South Carolina School for the deaf and blind
- Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired
- Hazelwood School http://archrecord.construction.com/schools/08_images/SCH_HAZ03

- Anchor Center for Blind Children
5. What are your goals for working with this building type?
- My goal is to find and design a suitable building that works the best and provides the service which blind children need.
6. What are the program elements that you see included at this point in your building?
- Large circulation areas
- Special lighting and paint schemes for the visually impaired students
- indirect lighting on the interior
I worked on the design and construction of 'The Anchor School for Blind Children' while at Davis Partnership.
